It was a difficult day in Amber-land today. She had some wheat the other day. And a smidge of dairy. And when I say a smidge, I mean maybe a bite. And yet today, the girl has enough gas to run a small vehicle. And it STINKS. I mean seriously, my 2.5 year old could clear a room.
On a normal day, I'd think this was pretty funny. After all, it happens to everyone. And in my house, gas is generally something we have a bit of a chuckle over (I REALLY don't want my kids to be prudes like their mom about bodily functions. I can barely pee in public and I definitely don't want to pass that on!)
But today, today I think it's sad. Amber is definitely affected by both wheat and dairy and is definitely highly sensitive to both. We are generally ridiculously careful when it comes to her eating such things, but we got a bit lax, and as a result, she suffered. She also didn't poop today, so I'm sure her gut and bowels are painful for her.
The good thing is, she still ate up a little storm tonight. From the girl who barely ate anything 3 months ago to the girl now who munches on chicken coated with GF breadcrumbs, peas and risotto as though she's never seen food before. (Our dinner was soooo good!) Oh, and then she ate 1.5 bananas as a "bedtime snack."
So hopefully tomorrow her intestines will relax and she will be able to eat like usual and not stink so much.. for all of our sakes, but mostly hers.
